You may be wondering why we chose this name for our newsletter? Well, we thought it was too good to pass up! In our field, wavelengths are literally what carry information through optical fibers. But "being on the same wavelength" also means ensuring that our teams are connected and synchronized.
Basically, that's exactly what we do at Zonedge: we take technical complexity and turn it into human simplicity. And we thought it was perfect for a newsletter that aims to keep us all connected!
As this is our first edition, we had a lot to share with you - so expect something a little more substantial than our next editions! But stick with us all the way, it's worth it.
That said, let's get down to business!
Welcome to our first official Zonedge newsletter! And no, we promise we won't become one of those companies that bombard you with emails every other day - we respect your inbox too much for that!
But we felt it was important to give ourselves a way to chat with all of you at the same time. Because yes, we already take the time to chat with many of you individually (and we'll continue to do so!), but sometimes there's news we feel like sharing with the whole Zonedge family at once.
This year, let's face it, the economic situation has shaken us all up a bit. But you know what? It makes us even more grateful to have customers, partners, and friends like you. Your trust is not something we take for granted - ever!
On the contrary, it drives us to always want to do better, to always be looking for new ways to simplify your lives. Because, yes, we develop applications and technical tools, but at heart, what we really want to offer you is a service so personal you'll wonder how you ever managed without it!

Our new website: More than a showcase, a real resource!
As you may have noticed, we redesigned our website at the beginning of the year. Without fanfare, we put it online - we're not in the mood for a big marketing push! Instead, we focused on something much more useful: a real platform for sharing our knowledge with you.
The blog: Our unfiltered thoughts
In our regularly published articles, we try to share our vision of the world of fiber optics, but without the incomprehensible technical jargon. We take sometimes complex, sometimes topical subjects, and explain them to you as if we were having a beer together on a patio.
Sometimes we talk about kayaking to explain network management. Other times, it's gardening or rowing teams. But why? Because life is made up of analogies, and understanding something through a familiar image is often more effective than a 200-page manual!

The podcast: For those who prefer to listen
Because sometimes it's more convenient to listen than to read - on your morning walk or your commute to the office - we've put together a little podcast for you.

No more confusion: Our apps finally have names that make sense!
Let's face it, we haven't always been champions at naming our applications. "The Viewer? "Mobile Inventory"? It wasn't all that easy to figure out!
But that's all taken care of. Our three applications now have names that truly reflect what they do:
Zonedge GIS (formerly just "Zonedge") Your real command post for designing and managing your network. This is where everything is planned, designed and controlled.
Zonedge Web (formerly "The Viewer") Your universal access to your network from anywhere. More than just "seeing" - now you can really interact with your data, no matter where you are.
Zonedge Terrain (formerly "Inventaire Mobile") Your network inventory that follows you everywhere, even when the Internet is acting up. Because the reality of the field isn't always perfect coverage!
Zonedge 7.6: Our biggest update in a long time!
Hold on to your hats, because we've been working hard on this one! Zonedge 7.6 is probably our most important update in recent years.
The user interface has been completely redesigned - no more headache-inducing screens! The data inspector has been redesigned from the ground up to be even more intuitive. And we've added new maps to make your experience even smoother and more enjoyable.
And for those of you who've been asking for a while: our new Google Maps module has finally arrived! Imagine having access to Google's magnificent satellite maps, search by place name and address, PLUS the famous Street View, directly in Zonedge!
Yes, it's an add-on module that costs a little extra, but believe us, it's worth every cent. It takes the user experience to a whole new level. If you're interested, reserve your spot now - we've got a waiting list for a phased rollout, because we want to make sure everything works perfectly for everyone.
Two-factor authentication: Your network deserves bank-level security
We've started rolling out multi-factor authentication - the famous 2FA that you probably already know from your other important applications.
Why? Because your network data is precious. Because your network data is precious. It's not the kind of information you want floating around in the wrong hands. This measure will become mandatory by 2026, but if you want to be among the first to benefit, let us know! We'll prioritize your request.
Our new cloud infrastructure: more stable, faster, more reliable
We've been working behind the scenes to improve our cloud infrastructure and replace the old portal.zonedge.com with something more modern. If you haven't yet received your email with the new login details for our Streaming Applications service, it's coming soon!
This upgrade is our way of ensuring that your Zonedge experience is always top-notch, no matter where you're connecting from or what time of day it is.
